Announcing Roots & Wings 2014 “Youth Farm” CSA

We would like to thank the CSA shareholders who supported us last year and we look forward to a successful season in 2014. See below for details about our 2014 CSA program.

What is Root & Wings? Roots & Wings is facilitated by Angelic Organic Learning Center (AOLC) in partnership with a coalition of community-based organizations in Rockford, IL. The Youth Farm is part of the Roots and Wings network, launched in 2002, and coordinated by AOLC.

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) Shares: The Youth Farm will offer a 10-week CSA share of fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables. With a pre-season payment you purchase a “share” of our season vegetable harvest.

What’s in a share? Each week you will receive a reusable shopping bag filled with seasonal fruit, vegetables, and herbs. The share volume and weight will change from week to week based on which vegetables are available.

Cost:

  • Full Vegetable Share Price: $180 - $300
  • Half Vegetable Share Price: $90 - $150

The sliding scale allows those members who can afford to pay more to help support others who can only pay the minimum.

CSA available dates: June 25th through August 27th, 2014.
